Kahea Kuamoʻo, Therapist, LMHC, in Hawaii
Kāhea Kuamoʻo, LMHC

Hi, I’m Kāhea!

*Kāhea is currently not accepting new clients

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have about 9 years of experience working in the mental health field. Most of my focus has centered around the following: psychiatric crisis intervention, suicidal ideations, self-harm, parenting education, anger management or emotional regulation techniques, child behavioral modification, parental attachments, improving self-esteem, stress management, effective communication, decision-making and problem-solving, anxiety, depression, religious beliefs, as well as, grief counseling, death and dying.

I emphasize the use of evidence-based practices such as: cognitive therapy, behavioral interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness techniques, positive psychology, and some existential therapeutic techniques.

My focus of therapy is doing a holistic evaluation of your overall health, because our health and problems do not occur in a silo, but rather all factors in our lives influence each other holistically. This also means that if you want to see change you have to apply what you learn in therapy to your everyday living such as home, work, school, etc. With support and encouragement, I will guide you to put in the work and witness the improvements.
