Dennis Sloan, MA
Hi, I’m Dennis!
I am working on the start of my doctorate degree in social work to obtain my LCSW license. I’ve spent spent time as a social worker for hospice and a grief and bereavement counselor with the Maluihi Grief Services. I currently serve as the Director of Bereavement Services for the Maluihi Grief Services and Director of the We Honor Veterans program with Hospice of Kona. I spent 12 years in the US Army with almost 3 years of combat experience. For the past 3 years I’ve served as Pastor of Kona International Christian Church. My pastoral experience includes youth, adult, marriage and life counseling with applied Biblical principles.
At home I am focused on getting my kid prepared for sports and completing a book list I’ve set for the year. I enjoy running and weight lifting to clear my head and most importantly for me, as much family time that I can possibly get. Movies and music are an automatic go to for me when it’s time to relax.
